FCA Camps Reach Record Numbers
Fellowship of Christian Athletes Camps reached record numbers in 2013, according to the latest FCA Camp Impact Report. Nearly 60,000 coaches and athletes attended 429 camps across the United States and around the globe this past summer.
“Relentless” was the theme of the 2013 FCA Camps around the United States and across the globe. The theme came from the Biblical verse Hebrews 10:39, which says, “But we are not those who draw back and are destroyed, but those who have faith and obtain life.” Campers were challenged to relentlessly pursue God and their sport with a desperate, determined heart, just as God’s love for us and his pursuit of us are relentless.
An all-time high of 59,752 coaches and athletes attended the camps in 2013. More than 20 percent of those coaches and athletes made a commitment to Christ, with 5,002 committing their lives to Him for the first time and 7,120 rededicating their lives to Christ.
Among the most noteworthy of the statistics listed in the Camp Impact Report is the fact that there were 87 international camps held in 24 countries outside the United States, pointing to an ever-growing impact made by FCA’s intensified focus on its international ministry.
Locally, our Hagerstown Power Camp reached over 400 athletes and nearly 200 volunteers with many more impacted through the regional leadership camp as well as the Hagerstown hockey camps put on by FCA Hockey.
Join us next year for FCA Camps 2014 and let's see the world impacted for Jesus Christ through the influence of athletes and coaches!
